J. Fredrick Wade, M.D.

Joseph Fredrick Wade, M.D., began his career in medicine obtaining his undergraduate degree from Auburn University in 1985, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. In 1989, he received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. While earning his Doctorate of Medicine, Dr. Wade received the following awards:

  • The Stuart Graves Pathology Award
  • Alabama State Legislature Scholarship
  • Tinsley Harrison Scholarship
  • Dorsey Scholarship
  • Sarah F. Davis Award
  • The Academic Achievement Award
  • The Superior Scholastic Achievement Award

Dr. Wade did his internship at the Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., from 1989-1990, later completing his residency in Orthopedic Surgery from the same institution in 1994.

Dr. Wade is a native of Decatur, Ala. Dr. Wade and his wife, Stacey Wade, have three children: Jacob, Samuel and Helen. He is actively involved in the Junior Church Youth Group with First Presbyterian in Columbia. In addition to his community involvement, Dr. Wade is a member of the:

  • Tennessee Orthopedic Society
  • North American Spine Society
  • American Medical Association
He has also participated in the Habitat for Humanity in the Mid-Tennessee area and in his free time, enjoys three favorite pastimes: biking, running and golf.
