C. Douglas Wilburn, M.D.

Dr. Charles D. Wilburn began his career in medicine attending David Lipscomb University where he received his undergraduate degree, a B.S. in Chemistry (1972). Dr. Wilburn received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis (1976). He practiced at Centerville Medical Center in Centerville (1976-1977). Dr. Wilburn completed his internship at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and later completed an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Baroness Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., (1978-1982).

Dr. Wilburn is active in both civic and professional organizations. He is a member of the following societies:

  • Maury County Medical Society
  • Tennessee Medical Society
  • American Medical Association

He is Board Certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Wilburn is also an active member of Graymere Church of Christ, as a teacher and assistant in the counseling center. Dr. Wilburn has served on the Board of Directors with Columbia Academy since 1990, and is a former Chief of Staff at Maury Regional Hospital. Other interests are outdoor activities including a variety of sports, such as hiking, biking, skiing, tennis and golf. Dr. Wilburn and his wife, Beth, who is a former nurse and an Engineering Major at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville), have three children: Aaron, Lauren and Neil.
